Pareidolia (pronounced "par-i-DOH-lee-a") is a brain phenomenon in which a person can sees faces in inanimate objects, such as an image of the Virgin Mary in grilled cheese.
Probably the most famous astro-Pareidolia is the witch nebula, but I think there are quite a few other good examples around!
Here is a face in profile from NGC3327 that I imaged in a lapse in the clouds last night.
8 x 300s for each of SHO
GSO 250mm F4
Do you have any other examples of faces?

Great shot, very cool Mark  The king of Pareidolia, the late, great and stupendously gifted, Mike Berthon Jones (https://mikeberthonjones.smugmug.com/browse/), would be very proud of you mate :prey2:

As a strong proponent of the art of seeing things that aren't really there, myself , I will contribute this one (https://pbase.com/strongmanmike2002/image/140710554/original)

That is great Mark, the more you look at it the more it materialises, well done indeed.

Faces - check out the main feature of SH2-54 :)

Assuming you captured this in metro melbourne - good job picking up light wispy's / dark nebula with so few frames! came out well!
