In Canberra in the last year or two, it seems when we are not getting the Eastern mist from Sydney, we instead suffer cloud funneling along the Dividing range either from the North or South! Hope it improves as Saturn rises earlier.

But we often get a bit of sun in the day so I can do some solar imaging and some clearish sky in the early night which in this instance I used for comets.

Micks Pons Brook image from a few nights ago inspired me to post up my own taken on a 533mc with a C6 and Celestron reducer. This shows what I am told is an anti-tail at the front.

Also, in case it was of interest added a very novice comet spectrum using the Star Analyzer 100 with my 533mm.

With the same C6 gear, and also imaged on 26 May here is Tsuchinchan- Atlas 2023 which is of possibly more interest as while now about 10th magnitude, it is higher, coming our way and getting brighter

Thanks Ross for showing these images, the graph is a bit beyond my knowledge on spectrographs but I'm sure others more intelligent than me will make sense of it. Thanks for confirming that my lens wasn't playing tricks with me and that the anti-tail out the front is real. Very interesting.

Hi Michael,

Yes I had the same reaction when I first saw the anti-tail myself. But it even shows up faintly in an earlier Seestar image. I am very novice in Spectroscopy but I know there are some quite experienced members here.

Fascinating results Ross
