Last new moon deep in the Kalahari desert, Namibia, Africa.

I couldn’t imagine there’s so much detail and light looming from within the so called Coal Sack :)

Hope you enjoy this whole new perspective on this beautiful object alongside the Southern Cross.

This is great. You can also see a bit of the coalsack loop- very faint H alpha that runs around it. I tried to image this loop it last year from light polluted Sydney:
