Awesome video Joe! A good record of how dynamic it was throughout the night; there were several waves. The passing cloud in the video actually adds to the experience too. That must have been extremely satisfying, having outdriven the clag further east to be able to see and record this.

Thank you JA and Mirko. Yes, the passing cloud does add to the video. Ironically, the cloud seems to play a much bigger role in the time lapse than it does in my memory. There was always that line of cloud down near the horizon but I seemed to have hours of clear view of the display and don't recall sitting there bemoaning the cloud. I think that the heaviest cloud coincided with relative lulls in the display.
Yes there were waves of major activity but also pulsations of the vertical pillars or beams on a 1 second time scale.
