it is a few weeks old now but it was 1 hour old in the pic, it didn't hurt but it burned a little. You know what they say where there's no sense there's no feeling.

Of course it's raining!!! You bought a scope. Duh!

I'd stick in a pic of my Tatts but no-ones home at the moment to take the photo. Good topic for a new thread "Show us your Tatts!"

Enjoy your scope.

Sounds like a good topic but I only have the one so far.Next one will be of CuCulainn(there are many different spellings for his name) Irelands greatest warrior with an Irish wolfhound at his feet.Or it will be if I can ever get my son to draw it for me.

haha well done, already into astrophotography too! :D

You should get along to the NAS meeting on the 27th May, i'll be there as special guest  :P

Also come down to our central coast observing sessions, or the NAS ones.. The guys will help you collimate your scope, help you find objects, etc.. plus you'll get to see through some other telescopes and eyepieces, which will help you when you want to purchase some more glass.

27th is my sons 17 th Birthday so that is out but I will try and make a trip down the coast or Junes NAS. I picked up a collimation ep the other day and I hope I have the scope looking at what I have it pointing at : ) I know the moon is an easy target but my cross hairs on the finder scope where just about spot on looking through the 25mm ep and the 9mm looked ok not perfect but not far off. I bet in a year or so I'll have it down pat.

thanx paul Just wish this rain would go away though :mad2: not looking good for a while yet. Rains more here than in Ireland(not) just seems that way though. The tat took about 3 hours to get done and I didn't cry much either :( Wife says I went from a wimp to a warrior overnight :fight:(cough, cough)

I started "club 60mm" at the forums on astronomy.com... someone ran with it amd made a small scopes specific forum (targeted at 70mm and below).

while that was a great way of sharing ppls experiences with small dept store scopes I dont think 200mm scopes would quite have the same effect.

...and then there'll be MOON for weeks... who caused THAT???

...grumble...grumble...grumble...

seriously though, looks like you got a good scope there! Welcome to the eight-inch club!:D
