A trip west towards the city limit on 9 May allowed a good visual examination of 12P, both via 7x50s and 8" dob after sunset at subzero temps and a bit of a breeze.

Here's 22x30s with the FS-60 @f/4.2 and the old trusty 6D, then Siril and PS. The darker and lighter bands are airglow, running parallel to the horizon. The visible part of the gas tail was perpendicular, while the dust tail was roughly parallel, to the horizon. Stretching reveals strange shapes downstream of the ion tail.

Grouse to see the Super Stretched Data revealing its current affairs Mirko.
The coloured image is nice to the eyes too.
