I want to purchase the Benro Polaris Astro kit and notice that with shipping/tax, it is a good few hundred dollars cheaper at the US store BHPhotoVideo then it retails here in Oz.
There are evident risks as it is still almost $2k but just wondering whether others have purchased from them and any thoughts they had on it?

I have purchased from them before and have had zero issues. When our dollar is strong there prices are very good!

A few years ago when the Aussie $ was on parity with the US $, I made several purchases from B&H of items that were not stocked or available in Australia and found their service to be excellent and reliable.
The $ parity also made the shipping costs palatable.
The main risk is that with defective goods that do not perform to specification, you have to ship them back to the USA, which can be expensive and inconvenient.

Fab, that's great to know and thanks! I actually decided to purchase from Bintel as the sale price (with a discount) amounts to the same at BHP&V. I have purchased from them previously and they have been great.
However, will still consider lens and other equipment from BHP&V with thanks :)
