Money certainly talks!!!
Paris Hilton has been released from Prison on the 3rd day of her 23 day sentence. She has to serve the rest of her time in the Hilton Mansion!
I am watching the story on Fox News live from USA and the nation is in uproar about it.
The County Sheriff is the one who had her released, not a Judge. A psychiatrist was sent to the prison to check on here (at who's cost) which is the 1st time a pshychiatrist has ever been allowed into the prison to talk with an inmate and it is claimed that she was released by the Sheriff on medical grounds.
The reporters on the TV and the the public aren't impressed!!!
The general comments by the people is 'Money talks'.

Only in the USA..... remember O.J ????? it really is the "land of the Free" for the rich anyway.
Quite a joke really, there's one law for them and another law for us.
Cheers
All it is, is a media circus.
Leon
That's pretty weak, she should serve her full sentence.

Without wishing to jump to the defence of the American legal system (what an appalling thought).....there is usually a commonsense reason for such an arrangement. Paris Hilton would have to be a target in an ordinary gaol. Maybe the REAL story is that it has been done for her protection. The authorities would not want to say such a thing publicly because it would convey the message that the authorities are not in control of the prisons.
PS I spent a day visiting inmates at Long Bay Gaol about 10 years ago, as part of my legal training. Believe me, gaols are not pleasant, despite the tripe that the media serves up about what places of leisure they are. For the young men, in particular, the emotional scars from the first day alone would last for a lifetime (and I am sure we all know what I am talking about here).
Some American wag sugested that she was mentally scarred by having to sleep in the same bed three nights in a row. :)

I am sure if any person on this site was in the same possition as her and could make their situation better they would not do the same.
I for one would not like to go to jail for even one day.
I also think she was being made an example by the judge.

Well said Gazz, Paris who? Is only Paris because of her terrible behaviour and the more that society laps it up the bigger she gets. " there is no such thing as bad press". Greg.

If you cant handle the time don't do the crime. she only go 40 days!! I might try that excuse if I ever go to jail. Then I again wouldent mind spending 40 days lock with her. :love2:
glad my mouth wasnt full...
what a farce. i have to admit i was suprised that she went in at all. how are the rich and famous held accountable for thier actions if not by the legal system?

She should have been made to do community service like Whitney Houstan had to do.
Cleaning public toilets, picking up litter, cleaning cages at the pound, anything that would get her hands dirty.

Paris Hilton and all off the other vapour filled media generated "celebrities" are like Tinkerbelle, if we dont think about them they will fade away and then perhaps front page news will be that again. Greg.

Well shove two fingers at the legal system often enough and it will bite you eventually, while I can't see much good at throwing a stupid kid in jail getting caught twice driveing while dissqualified for DUI is always going to land you in a heap of trouble.
Probably the first time this young lady has had somone say no to her
doing as she pleases in her life .
enough of this idle chat on to the important stuff .. WHEN is the video out ??
:P
Well it's pretty simple really, obey the laws of the land, and you wont land into hot water.
