I got an ASI Air Mini to control exposures for my 294MC Pro and DSLR lens on the iOptron Skytracker (which works every nicely, thank you) and then decided to try out the USB cable I ordered to flash my Meade LX200 firmware.

Turns out that cable works fine for making the mini talk to the Meade, so all of a sudden I have a setup that I can control from the comfort of the lounge room and don't need to manually point, hoping my target is in frame.

This is the first attempt at a faint object, still on the Alt-Az fork mount, no guiding. Also I should've used the bahtinov mask because focus is not stunning ;-) An hours worth of 30 second exposures last weekend, two days before full Moon with a Ha/[OIII] filter.

Anyway, posting this here so I can get my post count up, so I can respond to ads in the IceTrade forum and see about getting a proper mount :)

Quite a good effort for what is a basic setup.
I started (after a nearly 2 year hiatus) astro again last night and by chance started on NGC2736 too.

Very cool target, and a great starting image.

Thanks for pointing it out - that's another to add to my target list.

Cheers,
V.
