View Full Version here: : How do I place an ad on I
G,day everyone,
I have a dum question, how do I place an ad in the for sale threads and load up pictures of items for sale.
Haven’t posted for a very long time, hope you can help:D:D
Hi Neil,
Well you've got the first part, posting down pat, so just ....
1. Go to the classifieds section
2. Go into the appropriate forum to suit the item you are selling (telescopes/mounts, eyepieces, accesories, cameras etc....)
3. Select "Place New Ad" located near screen top left
4. Complete details of your item for sale, ensuring you have a good descriptive thread title for your item (Make / model, etc. ) and select "FOR SALE" as the prefix
5. Write up the details of the ad in the message section. Keep it informative and list any known faults / condition
6. State your selling conditions clearly(postage or pickup etc...). If allowing pickup you may choose to specify your location (state & Suburb) to help the would be buyer
7. State your price CLEARLY in Australian Dollars.
8. Use the PAPERCLIP icon to add an attachment (Picture/s) to your post.
* Select "Choose File" to select a picture of the item you'd like to include. This will allow you to browse your computer and select a picture you already have.
* To add multiple pictures use "choose file" again until all pics loaded. Ensure the pics are within limits, typically <200kB for JPEGs
* Once you've added all pics click the "Upload" button and then on completion, "Close this window"
9. Recheck your advert and click "Submit New Thread" just like normal posting
10. Enjoy responding to the many messages if your item is in demand and/or well priced.
You'll work it out. Have Fun
Best

Hi JA
Thanks for the instructions.
Posted my ad OK.
Want to amend the price.
How do I do that?
Thanks and regards

Simply click on the edit button on the lower right of the post and adjust as required.
If you can't find the edit tab simply post a reply to your own ad with an amended price, people will notice it.

I’ve tried to place an ad but seems like my account doesn’t have the correct permissions? EDIT: Just saw the sticky!

Hi Alex
Correct, you have to make a certain number of posts before being able to place an ad.
I don't recall what the number is, but, it is small.
Have fun
Philip
New members wishing to place an ad need to have a minimum of 5 posts (no spam or meaningless posts) and be a member for at least one month.
Please read and comply with all the TOS rules before posting.
