I have concluded I need a new monitor .. I would really appreciate advice on what I should be looking for and even specific models or brands

Used really only for Astro image processing

Thanks in advance!

Hello N,

I would get something without a glossy screen. Matt finish is better to help beat any glare in the room. I would also consider a 4k or 1440p monitor over the typical 1080p models, depending on your budget and your graphic card's capabilities. Size is up to you, especially for a single monitor for which I'd consider going up to 37 inches for, provided the resolution is at least 1440p. Also consider dual smaller (24inch ?) monitors if you have a busy desktop and like to spread out your various tasks. I'm not fond of curved screens but YMMV.

If your budget is tight and you'd like dual screens you could consider some of the DELL 1920X 1200p monitors in various sizes, but at least 24 inches.

Good luck in the hunt.

Best

You want something that has reasonable colour accuracy, good PPI (without being too high), large, etc.

I do all my editing on the Dell U3223QE and love it. 32", 4K, good colour accuracy (although I calibrate it so out of box accuracy is less of an issue for me and not something I pay much attention to).
