Is there a filter you can buy for amatuer images of the Sun to look like this from SOHO ?

You can come close to that but you can also spend >$10K just on one filter ;)

Maybe not quite like that but you can come close with a solarmax telescope from Coronado (http://www.coronadofilters.com/)(we'd all like a 90mm :) ) or you can try a double stack PST for about 1/8 the price. You will get beginner results like this (http://www.iceinspace.com.au/forum/attachment.php?attachmentid=27029&d=1179548846)

Hmmmmmmmmmmmm .... just checked out the PST's etc and don't think I'm that worried any more :whistle:

You'd have to be very keen on the Sun to go the SolarMax 90T< 0.5A BF30 .... also pretty wealthy:eyepop:

Guess I'll just look at SOHO images and let them spend the big bucks !
