Good spots South East of Perth?

Bortle 3 skies can be found less than an hour SE of Perth. A little further gets you Bortle 2. Does anyone have some favourite locations down that way? I'm looking for somewhere close to a sealed road with easy access. Plus, the area is heavily forested, so somewhere will a large clearing or rise would be ideal.

Good Day Dexx!

A good spot with bortle 1 skies south east of Perth (ok mostly east) is just before you get to Merredin. I drive trucks for a living and have pulled over in a rest stop approx 50 km before Merredin and enjoyed the pitch black skies with my 10x50mm binoculars. Unfortunately I'm yet to haul my telescope there. Nice, flat panoramic views all around.

Hi Rod, that looks like a good, dark spot :thumbsup: BTW it was great catching up with you last night and having a chance to look through your impressive refractors whilst you observed through my dob. Pity about the light pollution :D
