Wow, well done Mr McNaught the "comet hunter". That certainly is an amazing milestone.

I read in a book that Jean Louis Pons discovered 37 or 38 comets, and yet in the comethunter.de website it lists Pons as having 26......
Apparently Pons had observed a couple of his comets twice.....and yet Donald Yeomans published in his Halleys Comet book in 1985 that Pons had 37 or around that number....hmmmm
Is that true??
