For quite some time I am trying to image SN1987a remnant.. and I think I succeeded, on couple of occasions.
The most recent was over last weekend (C11 + FR + modded Canon 60D).
Remnant is in the centre, red dot, just above noise..
Previously, I barely did it with modded IMX291-based webcam (exp. time was 0.5 sec, which is maximum for that camera), same setup (third image).

My experience is that it is reasonably easy to detect SN1987a with longer exposures but not easy to resolve. This (https://cdn.astrobin.com/images/57732/2023/b0b7f0c0-6b20-43ed-86b6-2c5f3c75215e.jpg) is the best I’ve ever managed. Resolving the red blob between the two close stars.

Yes.. excellent image! Thank you for sharing.
I was wandering if there are others on this forum trying to bag this target :-)

Another attempt after exactly one year.. the weather was windy, so I didn't expect much...
This time I added ASCAR C1 filter to the mix..
130x5sec stack @ISO1280.
The red dot (SN1987a remnant) between two stars is clearly visible.

This is cool! I had no idea about it. Had a look at some of my previous images. Is this it?
