23rd Jan.
A nice sunny day with light cloud allowed me to take a few images of the Sun.
First image is at 540 nm to show the sunspot locations.
Images 2-4 show the Sun at Ha wavelength (656 nm). I have numbered the active regions to help with identification.
Solar activity finally reached moderate levels with an M1.5 solar flare around AR 3559 at 06:22 UTC (Jan 22). In the southwest quadrant, AR 3561 appears to be expanding and will be worth monitoring as well.
All images are single exposures with a Canon 550d.
