This was a massive project taking 2 seasons to obtain 14 panels of images in order to create this massive mosaic.
Taken over many nights over 12 months it has been a huge undertaking of patience and frustration.
all up about 103MP.
Images captured with the ASI zwo294mc Pro.
Optolong L-Ultimate
Mosaic planned in The ASIAIR plus and Pro
Skywatcher NEQ6 Pro mount belt modified and of course the ASKAR FRA300 Pro telescope
Used darks but no flats Graxpert and the light pollution method in Astropixel processor negated the sensor pattern of the 2i94mc pro
Stacked in Astropixel processor, attempted the mosaic function but for some reason it just didn't like it.
Took all the panels into pixinsight, cleaned them BlurX NoiseX, Graxpert then saved them as Tiff files and used the Panorama function in photoshop. then reintegrated them into Pixinsight to process etc. Final touchup in Photoshop.
The processing alone too a few weeks getting all the panels together. It's DONE!

Comments critiques are welcomed and encouraged
PS the image here does not do it justice as the forum would not allow me to upload anything above a certain size

Well done Nik on sticking to your goal and the achievement of a wonderful image.:thumbsup:

BTW... you confused the hell out of me with mention of using the ZWO 224 MC Pro . I did a double take before realising it must be a typo.:D

Best

That’s amazing mate. You’ve managed to put that together nicely to avoid gradients and revealed great definition especially in the O3 regions. A fantastic project and hats off to your patience and dedication to getting it across the line.
I also quite like the more natural colour presented here too.

Thanks Dave it's been an adventure so far, I was thinking of adding another layer of panels at the edges but that's another 12 or so panels :)

To quote Graham Kennedy... "FFFAAAAAAAARRRKKKKK"!! The full size image would be impressive to see.

Are you going to get this one printed and framed? It's certainly a very worthy contender.

Thanks Steve,
I'm thinking of having it printed, at full frame at 150 dpi it is 2 metres across which means it will look amazing.

Nik, this is a sensational effort that has mightily paid off. I can’t even see where the panels were stitched together. By the way, you’ve paneled together so much data that Astrobin crashed on my phone when viewing at full resolution! I would certainly be printing that. Well done for completing such an interesting project and thanks for sharing here on IIS.

I have posted an update and tweaked the colours for a less orange/green to a more natural rendition. Hopefully it looks better the astrobin image has been automatically updated.

Definitely prefer the edited colours. But what an effort. Colour preference is just that, a preference. Hats off to you for the sheer amount of effort involved in this. I had plans to do something similar so now there’s a hell of a benchmark to aim for!

Absolutely stunning! I intend to take on a few single frame projects in the coming months, most of which are in this frame or maybe one panel further out from the eastern edge, I'm running similar equipment (imx294 + 65phq) so this is inspirational to say the least!

Incredible work!

Thanka Adam there are so many renditions, some with more blue some more green some more magenta, I aimed for straight down the middle with this.

An inspiring result.

I prefer the less green option as well, but for all I know the green is more true to life.

Great wide field there! I can even spy the section I shot last as well as my next project! So thanks for the reference image!

Its great to be able to see everything in relation to each other.
