Hi

Attached is a Ha band image of the sun taken this morning.

ED100 @ f/9 + SHG.

10 of 20 frames stacked in AS3! and deconvolved in Astrosurface.
Better seeing this morning.

Low res attached, better at: https://flic.kr/p/2pnYE8C

Really nice image Maurice - you have that SHG working well. What effect does 'deconvolved' have on the Sun?

Hi John..

From Wiki...
In optics and imaging, the term "deconvolution" is specifically used to refer to the process of reversing the optical distortion that takes place in an optical microscope, electron microscope, telescope, or other imaging instrument, thus creating clearer images.

Basically estimating the mathematical function causing the blur in the image & then applying its inverse to the data to restore the image without the blur...ie sharper...

Attached is an example with a small crop of the stacked data before & after Deconvolution.
