Christmas? Nup.

Spider season! Thankfully no tarantulas in our yard (that I am aware of)
but lots of Orb weavers . Back-pedaled many times now while
brushing webs from my face while taking out the garbage late in the evening!

H-alpha rendition here (http://www.atscope.com.au/BRO/gallery443ha.html)

Full 16803 frame, with a smidge of cropping to tidy-up small registration errors. 4x 30minute subs. Self guide mode.

That's excellent Peter,
these Ha pictures are better in many ways than the colour renditions.

Stunning. The best Ha rendition seen here by far.

:thanx: Thanks gentlemen for the positive remarks. This was taken from
the lofty altitude of 100 metres at my urban backyard in Sydney's south.

That said I've long been of the view you can shoot NB from Pitt Street and not suffer too much from light pollution.

I also suspect NGC2070 is better suited to larger apertures and long FL's to reveal the filigree details without resorting to aggressive processing...and the artefacts that often come with that.

Hi Peter,
I hope that more people will post their Ha pics as well as their colour renditions.
I also noticed with my own pics that if the Luminance and RGB channels
were registering a FWHM of say 3.3 arc seconds
the Ha data was always better at say 2.9 to 3.0 arc seconds.
the stars would be smaller too - it's just straight out better.

cheers
Allan
