Hi all
About a year ago I attended a astronomical night in Mornington and whilst there got chatting to one of the volunteers who was also a member of the ASV. he mentioned that the ASV was in the process of setting up a remote controlled telescope for its members. I thought this could be quite useful for comet hunting.

With this in mind I joined the ASV but have heard nothing further about the initiative. The following webpage https://asv.org.au/Remote-Observatory-Project?gclid=CjwKCAiAvdCrBhBREiwAX 6-6UuCFJAgvavJl_UGFskDvnMPH0Cp490pnlH tAj-pMSjF5ivLZQ14kUhoCQ0YQAvD_BwE

suggest that one telescope has been set up but I found nothing on the website about how to register to use it.

Can anyone point me to a page or someone so I can start using this telescope?

Thanks Peter

Will their email address help with information?

membership@asv.org.au

I'm guessing you've probably already tried it but I can't find much else on their site.
Hopefully there may be a member here with insider knowledge.

Not much to update, but there have been photos on the ASV Farcebook pages showing two new domes being installed on the imaging field.

As for an actual remote telescope you can use... Not a sound - and I've been a member for a couple of years now.

It might be worth dropping an email to the president, or to the head of the AstroPhotography section.

Cheers,
V.

There have been some post on the ASV FarceBook page lately about the remote-access telescope.

It seems to be getting closer, in that they have a working setup and have taken images with it. No mention of when it will be available, though.

Cheers,
V.
