Despite there only being two birds in either image the little one hiding under the tree may be the young'un of the other pair on the driveway. I couldn't get all 3 birds at once and they are usually the most skittish of animals, the slightest awareness of my presence and they are gone. Today it was someone walking past who scared them away. Most unusual to be able to photograph them in my yard without a telephoto lens from quite a distance. They are pretty little things though and love my yard when it's wet, probably something to do with my mowing schedule. I do it when I feel like it, usually when the grass is over my knees (dictated by health not laziness, that only affects every other aspect of my life).

Nice capture, particularly the second image. I swear that bird is goose stepping.

Haha, I didn't even notice that.
The birds don't usually hang around if I step out my door or open the wire screen door, I was somewhat shocked, grabbed my little compact Canon instead of swapping lenses on the Nikon and shot what I could, without glasses. I can't even see the screen on the Canon compact with glasses.

Great captures, Leo. We're very lucky here in Oz to have such a wide range of colourful parrots.

They certainly are a pretty bird, so bright, nice images indeed.

A Canadian online friend I've known for many years was saying they don't get colourful birds over there beyond the red breasted Robbin.
