The image below shows the field of galaxies in the Fornax constellation. It was compiled from 110 two-minute exposures made with a 100mm apochromat and an ASI2600MPro camera. Processed in Pixinsight and Photoshop.

Thanks Pat - on closer inspection, I realised there are many more galaxies in the field than the plate solver identified.

Tim,
That’s a great view of a rich field of galaxies-
It may be worth lowering the gain on your exposures as the color seems to be a little over exposed and the galaxies are a little blown out. Just a thought.
There should be more blue in the main spiral. I’ve never used a ccd camera before so I may be wrong.
But you’ve managed some nice detail across the image so hats off to you Tim!

Noice image, Tim! I took a similar image earlier this year while waiting for another target and IIRC counted something like 25 or 26 galaxies in the image ... I ran out of fingers and toes to count :lol: Alex
