Don't know why there hasn't been any shots of Jupiter at Opposition or any shots of Jupiter of late but here's one I took with my 8 inch Newt on Sunday night. Even though Jupiter was rather low and I was shooting it over a metal roof, the seeing and transparency must have been good enough. This was taken at f25 using a 5X Powermate and an ASI 120MMS with LRGB filters. I always find it difficult to balance the colours. It was captured using ZWO's ASICAP app on my mobile phone - no computer required. :D

That’s a really nice one Michael! Colours looks pretty good to me and good detail too. I’ve noticed those equatorial disturbances/festoons have a prominent steel-blue tint to them this year and really quite pronounced in size. Always amazes me how much change is observed in Jupiter over a relatively short time.

Been absolutely zero chances for me to get any shots the last 2 weeks with all the cloud. Last night I thought I’d have a go but they came over again by 10. I’ve got some data from a few weeks ago I might have another tinker with but it was pretty lousy I hadn’t wanted to invest lots of time processing it…

Really glad you got a nice shot and thanks for sharing!
