A bit of a stange coincidence - as I left home about 45 minutes ago Austar was screening the 1966 B grade sci-fi 'classic' "1 Million years BC" which features both cavemen and dinosaurs (and Raquel Welch) co-habitating the earth.

I am a dinosaur and I would love to cohabit with Raquel Welch!

Ewwwww have you seen her lately....I'd say about 5 to many face lifts Meh, but still quite palatable..maybe:doh:

Edit:

I forgot to say, pro (creationists) and against camps are fighting this out quite a bit in a few well known Australian forums. It appears creationists are trying to gain support thru the work of their foot soldiers battles. Quite sad really. Even more sad to know this type of thinking has a dinner place at the White House.

If the Earth was created in 6 days, they never said WHICH 6! LOL

  :scared: noooo nooo Bert;)

aahh well it keeps people employed, someone had to make it, someone has to market it, someone has to guide you through it, and someone has report on it. But most of all, its a growth industry:lol: . is the pyramid scheme involved???;) :D :P

stay tuned when next we ask the dinosaurs, how did they play with Bert:whistle:

Geez, I'm a believer and even I know the Earth is Millions, if not Billions of years old!!!

Don't put all believers in the same pot!!! Same as belief in anything. They differ inside thier own camps.

That Museum happens to be what they insist. I can't agree with them, but it is free enterprise.

yeah thats it ken how someone can't reconcile there faith with the world
being much older is indeed strange.. though it is a fairly common
my BIL is an ardent believer that its but a few thousand years old
come hell or high water he won't think otherwise .

I used to work with another Geologist who was a creationist as well. It used to make for some interesting discussions on field trips but very frustrating when when he refused to listen to any other point of argument.
It must have been a real conflict of principles for him and I sure dont know how he got his degree.

Being a mineral/fossil collector since I was a young boy and finding them in the field I just can`t see why anyone could think the Earth was so young?

I'm doing exactly that at the moment Garyh, collecting minerals and gemstones, and i see what you mean....
But i guess some people only believe what they want to believe, like a lady i know who INSISTS that NASA never went to the moon....she wont listen to the other side of the argument.....i sent her a copy of the minutes to our last lapidary club meeting and i printed the envelope with a pic of Neil Armstrong on the moon......she thought it was cunning!
