Really poor conditions for this last week for planetary/lunar observations- but still had that itch to look upwards. Taken on the 29th with a 99% moon, I concentrated my observations on the north-eastern and south-eastern lunar limbs that were still providing some interesting views. Here's a couple of features that I found interesting!

Gauss, Hahn & Berosus: Right on the northeastern limb, Gauss is seldom imaged, but quite large and an interesting site. Being affected by libration - from what I can research I think I may have been viewing at an unfavourable time but compared to some of the few other pics I've found online I've been able to capture most of it I think.

Boussingault: On the southeast limb, what struck me was the very interesting sight of another large crater that lies entirely within its outer walls!

Wish I could have got some more, but with only a few fleeting moments of good seeing, was kinda happy to walk away with anything tbh.

Gauss is such a big sucker. And it's not often that the libration, weather, time is right to see the nether regions well. The asi178mm really does a great job.
Great captures of a difficult region.

Fabulous captures in the circumstances.

One feels it is time to “lower the landing gear” in final approach mode!

Very nice, our close neighbour is such an attractive and interesting subject, so much to explore under the ever changing light conditions.:)

Thanks guys I really appreciate your kind words! Feel like it’s certainly not my best image but somewhat of an achievement given the conditions of late.

Dave,
Always enjoy viewing your lunar images and especially these ones at near full moon
Excellent work , most folk wouldn’t bother with such a bright moon but your big rig and strategic positioning has done it again , really nice well balanced processing.

Cheers

Thanks Joe & Martin for your encouragement! Certainly a challenging shoot but sometimes it’s fun to do something a bit different, and I’m glad to have made the most of it now it’s clouds/rain for the foreseeable future!
