Hi all,

The magnificent Apennine mountains. They form the south eastern rim of the Imbrium Basin. About 3.9 Billion years old.

Thanks, Dennis. I always admired pics of the moon where there was an even tone. Too much pushing during processing produces those stark "black and white" shots that lack subtlety.

Having said that, lately with the new ZWO 178 all I've been doing is using (mainly) wavelet sliders 1 and 6 in Registax and there it is. I seem to be able to really push them without wrecking the tone. I am wondering if the very small pixel size (2.4 microns) has anything to do with this. I know with the DKM I wouldn't dare push the sliders that far!
