Apparently we were supposed to have a blue moon tonight, I guess it wasn't so "blue".

Anyways, here's the picture. How can I submit to APOD?

Ingo I've taken the liberty to convert your image from the 582kb PNG file to a 149kb jpg (which is the max IIS allows).
I don't think there's a difference in quality at all.

In your PNG image, you haven't flattened the layers so the file is just bigger.

The term "Blue moon" has nothing to do with colour and everything to do with timing.

According to the following two Sky & Telescope articles the definition is fairly recent, with Sky & Telescope itself contributing to the establishment of this recent bit of "folklore".

Hey guys, I think I got on APOD. If you look at tomorrows picture, it says "Moon Pointer"

Moon + Laser Pointer. :D
