Shot with the gear in my sig.

First try at this one with the GSO RC6. I like it. Hard to bring out the details in the arms but there's some there.

About 3.5 hours of data, darks and flats added.

thanks for looking

Looks good to me, Mark. Would bumping up the ISO one stop help to capture some of the fainter detail?

Cheers,
V.

Thanks Steve.
I had the same thought. That was shot at ISO 3200. The 700D optimum ISO is 800 to 1600 without losing to much dynamic range, so says the info I've read.

Maybe longer subs would gather more detail, or more subs in total. These were 3 minute subs.

Cheers

That's a solid effort, Mark. There's nice detail and colour in the arms. Is this a crop? I've only attempted this target once (120ED refrac) and found it difficult to post-process due to its diffuse nature (and my extreme newbie status lol). I eventually added Ha which provided some (subtle) additional colour in a few places in the arms. I think this is one of those objects that requires plenty of data. Alex

Thanks Alex.
Not a crop, well a slight crop to remove stacking artifacts before processing in StarTools.
cheers
