Astrophotography in Melbourne this year hasn't been very pleasant and after so long without getting out under the stars I was starting to think I'd forgotten how to do it with the last few times I'd been out the best FWHM readings I was managing were close to 3". Sunday night however treated me to some pretty darn good seeing getting down as low as 1.2"!
Clearly, on the rare clear night in Melbourne (at least where I'm located) we've been treated with poor seeing to boot.

Managed 5 hours of Ha with the final stack coming in ~1.5". Perhaps not ideal given the near full moon but with the skies clear and looking through the bottom of a swimming pool; you take what you're given.

On previous nights I had captured some OIII and SII but with the seeing being awful I'm not sure if I want to use them. Give it a go when I've got some time :)

High res version (https://cdn.astrobin.com/images/57732/2023/d86163be-d7cc-409d-8af1-ad31508b9e71.jpg) is worth checking out, nice round stars across the whole frame. Beamtech is working admirably under good seeing

Great res and really displayed some lovely detail on those filaments. Hope you get to finish it up that’ll be a cracker!!

Nice tight image there Colin.

I see the scope was a Beamtech CDK250. Its showing a good result there.

Greg.
