Managed to capture Andromeda and the Western Veil at Leyburn last weekend.

Andromeda is barely 20 degrees above the horizon when it transits, the Veil is about 30.

Astro-Physics 130 at f4.5 on a Mach1 mount. QHY600M with Chroma Filters.

15 x 180 second frames for LRGB on Andromeda and 18 x 600 second subs of Ha, S & O for the Veil.

Might have to try to complete the whole Veil with a mosaic either later this year or next.

I won't bother with 200kb files on IIS, but will just include the links to Astrobin ;)

Was almost going to ask what you'd use to shoot those on FB David - great to have all the technical detail via Astrobin. That's just about a dream cominbation of scope, mount and camara and you've put it to amazing use.

So much detail and love the composition of the Veil shot!

Beautiful images David.

AP130 and QHY600 are the bee's knees.

Greg.

Thanks Gents,

Was good to get back in the saddle again. I’ve got some unprocessed data on my HDD - should pull my finger out and have a go at that too.

Amazing shots! Particularly like the veil that’s some incredible colour!
