Hi All
My humble efforts at Saturn and Jupiter. Had thought about posting these in the main Solar System thread but after seeing Trevor and AndyCs' images, which are about as good as can be expected for amateurs , decided to post here instead. Because of the smoke issues around the region for the past few days, the transparency has been terrible and has washed out the images despite reasonably steady seeing . Also had a lot of trouble getting the colour balance anywhere near acceptable, again, probably because of the smoke .

Hi Jeff,

Wonderful images and great start I would think, thanks for sharing.

A respectable Saturn, considering the conditions you endured during capture. Jupiter has suffered somewhat but it is also lower in the sky and in your case, probably viewed through more muck than Saturn was higher in the sky. Great effort though Jeff, nice to see a bit of planetary appearing in the Beginners section.

Nothing to be ashamed of there Jeff those are some nice shots! I’ve been out a few nights this last week but the smoke has really impacted the seeing/transparency. I noticed when taking a few shots of Saturn one night I had to almost double my exposure times to compensate. All things considered you’ve done really well thanks for sharing!!

Jeff, these are great images and please keep em coming. You’re inspiring others (eg. me) to have a crack at some planetary imaging. I can only imagine that it’s a whole different game to DSO imaging! Thanks for sharing. Alex
