Hi All,
Just joined and would like to introduce myself. My name is Dave, I live in Mornington Victoria.
I have been into Astronomy for over 30 years!
I have a Meade LX200 GPS 10 inch. It has many extras and is a wonderfull telescope.. I observe with a small group of people. We use many diffrent scopes. rangeing to 18 inch.
I have been looking for a active forum group and maybe this one would be what i'm looking for.
All the best and clear skies.

Hi Dave!
Great to see another new member signing up.. the forum has been getting a lot of guest visitors lately and it's nice to see some more signing up and introducing themselves! :hi:
I went to Mornington Peninsula for work about 6 years ago, absolutely beautiful place. What's the light pollution like there? it should be far enough out of Melbourne to be fairly dark?
I hope these forums provide what you're looking for.. with more members and more contributions we're growing nice and steadily and things are looking good. Bring some friends back with you! :)
Hope to see you again soon!

Thanks for the welcome,
The mornington peninsula is a nice spot. A lot of people moving down here!
Skies a great in the right spot. I view at a place and i can see 6.5 mag in the south. Not so good in the north, about 4 mag.
So the weather is clearing now and hope to get may hours in over the next few nights.
Best.:astron:
G'day Dave and welcome, good to see you here. Haven't talked to you for a while, hows the weather and lx200 going?

Hi Mick,
Good to hear from you. I got a bit tired of the yahoo group so so slow!!:mad2:
The weather is great, I have seen on tv you have not had good weather of late!
The scope is wonderfull. I just got a 35 mm Panoptic for it. I had to get an eyeopener. I do love this eyepiece. Just under 1 deg. Not bad for a fl2540.
I'm picking up a 22 Panoptic tomorrow.
I better stop or my wife will you know:eyepop:
Talk aagain Mick

:abduct: LOL heres another one .....Gday Dave ,warm welcome to you
The televue sale at Bintel is driving me bananas with temptation how do you find the 35 Pan
Yes the yahoo group has slowed bit of a shame, but this place is jumping:jump2:. I'd love to have a look through a Panoptic, had a look through a 7mm Nagler it was good, nice wide field. I've just brought a 20mm GSO Superview can't wait to try it out, I should have it tomorrow. The weather has just started to come good, we needed the rain though we are on heavy water restrictions one major dam has only 3% water left.

Hi Guy's,
To answer some ?:juggle:
Geoff, give me a ring anytime you are free and we can catch up. I hope to observe tonight(friday) We are shooting with my freinds 18 inch Obsession and 14 inch LX200:astron:
Iceman, yes 47tuc is my favourite by a long way!
Aragorn, the 35 panoptic is a very nice eyepiece. Great match for my scope. I nearly got the 31 Nagler but it cost to much. I was able to pick up the 35 second hand. Its in new condition. I'm also getting a 22 pan, second hand as well.(hardly used) The Guy brought a set of Nags.
I aslo use a 16 mm type 2 nagler and a 12 mm type 4 Nag. Also a 8.8 meade uwa.
These are all great eyepieces. I find anything else comes second. I must say I only brought the 12 and 8.8 new.
i just waited till i saved enough money and got them There other eyepieces which are good, but once you look through Nags etc. No turning back:P
Mick i hope you get under the stars soon, sorry to hear about the water problems we have the same thing. I think all of Aus, has this problem.
Best.:astron:
