A very interesting area of sky with a multitude of tiny galaxies on display. The biggest and brightest of the lot is IC 4765, and IC 4769 the spiral showing off some interesting structure and colour. The rest are substantially smaller and very faint and quite a challenge to expose from my B7 location (even after a total of 16hrs integration), but I was happy that some structure is revealed in even the smaller background fuzzies.

Certainly a target to re-visit from a dark location!

Great shot Dave, love this cluster, it's one of the best in the southern sky I recon and a great target for your venerable C14. After last shooting it 10 years ago, I was recently considering shooting it again myself, under the improved conditions I have now...aaarg, too many things I wanna hit...

Nice work

Mike

Thanks Joshua / Mike.
Yeah Mike I agree it's probably one of the best galaxy clusters down here especially if you're shooting at a longer fl. Normally there's not much colour/structure to be extracted from the small stuff but this was quite rewarding. Shame it doesn't seem to get much action though. It took be some time to track down a couple of previous images (ours included) when I was trying to get some info on it.

Very nice.

When I looked at the Astrobin version, some of what I thought were "stars" in the smaller IIS website rendition, turned out to be even more Galaxies. Wow.:)

Cheers Dennis / Martin I appreciate your encouragement... and yeah it's hard to believe all that within 0.5x0.33 degree of sky!
