I would like to first introduce myself.
my name is Rod but all call me Bushy.
I was introduce to this site by Ian from Singleton after finding out that there is quite a following up here in the bush.
ian even went as far as loaning me the use of his 'Old' telescope, a 4" reflector. This is the first time I have used a telescope but I have been using my 10x50 binos. Scopes aree much beter. When Ian first introduced me to the workings of the scope I couldn't belive it. And to make things even more exciting for me was when we just picked the first 'star' we could spot in the east & he proceded to instruct me on focusing etc. Well you can imagine my suprise & delight when I said yes I can see the star through the scope but it appeared hazy. After checking himself again he looked up smiling & asked me to have another look & refocus a tad. The hazyness I thought I seen was actually the rings of Saturn. WOW. my first sighting of a star turned out to be the planet Saturn. Ian your a marvel. I am totally hooked now & I have Ian to thank for that. Thanks mate.
it is a bit cool these night to be outside after dark but that sure dont stop me. I'm wraped.
