I contend the Cheshire Cat was Alice's hallucination looking at the crescent moon through a tree.

Just L on the SN10 because it gave the best framing.

Autostakert and then PI for some sharpening & a crop.

50% of ~250 frames ASI1600mm

Great image, Oska. I'm not into lunar imaging (mainly because my attempts have turned out pretty crap), so it's uplifting to see a quality image of the moon.

Cheers,
V.

Great pic, John, but I can’t see the Cheshire moggy :-) I always love the detail at the terminator and would spend hours there with my big dob. First time doing lunar imagery? Alex

Thanks guys, much appreciated.

Fourth go, technically. First was the first day I got the 85 and shoved the 6D on it and tried, and failed, to get the full moon rising behind a local 'mountain'. Missed it by that much. Second was the blood moon last year and I had to settle for my best single sub as I couldn't work out how to stack them at the time. I tried this shot last month, but a day earlier, and it was very poorly. It seems 'you get that' shooting over the roof of the house just after sunset.

Great shot. Some really nice detail and love the natural look. It’s always challenging doing any planetary /lunar imaging in the early evening especially when you’re shooting over roofs. Well done!

Thanks Steve.

Cheers Dave, I did feel silly as it was obvious, after it was pointed out to me of course :)

Nice job John.
For Steve's benefit, it is possible to get great single shots without the need to stack; it just takes
a night when the atmospheric turbulence is minimal. My favourite lunar shots were all single shots, and I managed to get a couple published.
