I was never really happy with my earlier rendition of this field.

This re-work (http://www.atscope.com.au/BRO/gallery542.html) brings out the SII data better and..maybe..
has a NB palette a little more soothing to the eye.

That said while I find NB palettes in general, a little hit and miss.

However, some regions like Ara, better show their structures in narrow band, hence the re-work to tease out some more detail.

Hope you enjoy the view.

It is true Peter that the choice of colour palettes for narrowband images can be challenging but they do work better for these areas with complex emission nebulae in bringing out the detail. There is much detail to be had here as well as the fighting dragons are presenting a fine display

Thanks for your positive comments. It still has a few warts (e.g. smaller stars have darkish rings around them...never a good look) but I'm happy with the framing and clarity.

I recently had my FSQ106 EDXIII serviced by Testar hence am looking forward to getting some new and hopefully sharper data around this (and other) regions.
