An image of Venus taken yesterday morning, a day before inferior conjunction. Seeing was just average. Also saw it through the eyepiece of my 72mm Evostar and Celestron Nexstar 6. Daredevil astronomy, but the view was worth it.

Could not manage to get the whole ring of the light of the atmosphere around the planet. Probably need to have Venus closer to the Sun. On a previous occasion I did get it, but also focally warped the plastic cover around the secondary on my Nexstar SE6! :screwy:

Still working on some more videos. Cloudy today so no imaging possible :(

A crescent Venus to me highlights its location between the Earth and the Sun.

Great results, Richard.

Cloud here and not expecting clear skies until Tuesday. So, unfortunately, I am going to miss the closest approach phase of the conjunction. There is always another Inferior Conjunction - patience is a virtue!

Thanks Steve,

Agree. Looking forward to the next one.

Fantastic Richard! You’ve really captured Venus in her (imho) most beautiful and delicate moment. A very technically challenging capture. Well done!
