Hi All,
I'm going camping on an island in the middle of nowhere for 15 nights and I would kick myself if I wasted all those potentially dark nights. Does anyone have any experience with sprays etc to help protect my gear? I understand that it isn't ideal to have it on the beach, but I can't not take it.

Cheers!

Sand control maybe a problem.

Wrap all in transparent plastic?

I dont have any specific example for a telescope, but you can get gist from camera world:

that may be the go - I have one of those silver telescope covers for during the day. I'm not too fussed about the tube, I have a spare, mostly the camera, focuser, mount. I think ill try some plastic wrap around some of those components, replacing every few nights

It is not just the spray but the actually air around a beach, it is laden with salt, just look at the rust around the houses lining the shore.

I wouldn't take my stuff anywhere near the beach for that extended period, but that is just me.

Enjoy your camping experience.;)
