I did this shot of the Veil Nebula using the Epsilon 180Ed , ZWO ASI2400MC pro One Shot Colour and Askar Dual Band Ha/O3, remotely from Spain
I am just gobsmacked how much I was able to bring out for such a relatively short amount of exposure... and on a OSC no less!!
These Dual Band filters reinvents OSC imaging in my opinion.
Exposures were 56 x 300s sub exposures 4.6 hrs total for each panel. (Two Panel Mosaic)
Thanks for looking

Very cool.
I'd love to be able to image this one day but it's very low from our latitude.

Wow! Looks like a Cosmic Angiogram :eyepop: :D
Excellent

Nice , how do those filters compare to say a Optolong L extreme filter :)

Lovely image with incredible color
Yeh OSC Dualband or Triband rocks under Bortle 6 to Bortle 1
Different story though under B8 to B9 , it’s a struggle , you need good conditions and plenty of data to pull out the finer detail
I started years ago with a ZWO Duoband then progressed to L Extreme 3 years ago and now use the Antlia ALPT golden
However, Mono NB wins hands down in any sky

L-Extreme is good with Bortle 6 skies and yes it will Halo on bright bright stars.
I upgraded to the L-Ultimate which has negligible if any halos and have no regrets, works really well even when the moon is around and very few gradients.

That’s incredibly deep- well beyond what I’ve seen before. Beautiful colour. The new generation of osc dual band filters are exceptional and really do make a huge difference imaging with light pollution.

Stands out and POPS! lovely rendering of this target

Thank you .....Its a very popular target up North
Its been a real eye opener for my thoughts on OSC, never really being able to get those really rich reds the same as when using ha and mono... I mean is it really the same?? no....but is it close??? definitely and it certainly speeds things up being able to image in two band widths at the same time....so for me it's a win!
I definably had halo anxiety but these are Askar Colour Magic filters 6nm....I have no halos what so ever, even on the brightest stars and the Epsilon 180ED is notorious for halos with narrow band....
Yes and the LP is only getting worse these days with the broader band LED scattering their crap up in the air....I have a set of the Antlia's on the FSQ...I haven't had a chance for a good road test yet
Not sure Trevor, but for cheap and chearful I have no complaints....depth of HA and O3 lines are impressive and exceeded anything I thought possible with a OSC
Possibly pushed too far and isn't to everyones saturation tastes but some times I get caught up in that processing moment and get lost in the zone
 yes it does Mike...those delectate tendrils really separate in longer FL scopes ...Its such a lovely object...I did push it as far as I dared with what I think is an acceptable noise level...as I saw more of the shell coming out I couldn't resist the urge to push...possibly too far for some but this was more of an exercise in what I could bring out with a colour camera....so I will probably go back to the data and give is a more calculated process at some point
I think exactly the same with those Southern gems you have down there....you are sooo lucky...I have plans to fit some kit in Chile ...hopefully soon so I might be able to join in with some of those more familiar objects...fingers crossed

Absolute newbie here with 3 imaging sessions (and 2 images LOL) under my belt. Your images are inspiring and have confirmed my instinct to initially concentrate on OSC narrowband.
Am about to buy a first filter and was leaning toward Optolong L-enhance but still researching. The Askar Color-Magic seem to generally be sold as a pair. Did you use both here or is this just the D1?
Cheers

Thank you Bill
, Yes I do have the pair but this shot was only done with the Ha/o3....I have some data with the S2/o3 so but not yet had a chance to process yet, The S2/o3 really needs to be used along side the Ha/o3

Looks great, always reminds me of HR Giger's Alien creature when presented in full like this - would like to see a larger version! :D
