I took all these images, along with some Jupiter pics, last Friday. All of them imaged with my 10" LX200R and an LPI through a 2.5x powermate.

Comments and criticisms welcome. I have touched them up in photoshop (despecle/smart sharpen/brightness/contrast) to my personal taste. I hope I got the feature names right! :D

1 - archimedes
2 - aristillus & autolycus
3 - arzachel & alphonsus
4 - crater plato and mount pico
5 - ptolemaeus
6 - straight wall mosaic
7 - southern apennine with crater eratosthenes

I also tried my hand at some handheld eyepiece projection. This picture was taken by holding my Pentax Optio S6 to a 24mm Panoptic eyepiece. I cropped the image because it was poorly framed.

Hi Andrew

An excellent portfolio of hi res lunar images with the LPI. Loved the straight wall mosaic and the details on the floor of Ptolemaeus. Great job in identifying and naming the craters too - this always adds to my appreciation of hi res lunar images.

With images this good, you might be maxing out on the LPI soon, if you haven’t done so already. I would jump the ToUcam step and go straight to the DMK if you want an improved capture device - you'll really notice the difference.

Cheers

Dennis

Thanks for the kind words guys :)

For a trip down memory lane here is my first lunar picture back in 2003 covering the same area with my ETX90 (and the same camera  )
