Now that competition season is behind us; I thought I'd share a few images here, starting with this one :)

Presenting what is very possibly the first high-resolution, HaRGB mosaic image showing the entirety of this Ha streak, GMN 41 in Puppis.

Found this while exploring a Galaxy Map Finkbeiner Ha survey & decided to try it back in late December, not realizing that it would become a 10-panel mosaic!

Huge thanks to my buddy Blue for patiently setting up my gear at his property & following through with all the captures despite challenging weather conditions.

The brightest star is Aludra, (31 CMa), and the open beautiful cluster to the right is Collinder 140, aka 'The Tuft in the Tail of the Dog.'
The cluster is large @ 42' (almost two full moons!).

Almost no other information about this beautiful field is available. Let me know if you find any!

Big shoutout to Voyager for its amazing web dashboard and mosaic tool, which was invaluable in planning this image, truly amazing software!

For Star Trek fans, (and how awesome is "Strange New Worlds"!) it resembles the Starfleet Delta - duty insignia and communicator badge - hence the "Delta One" moniker.

Splendid image, Andy:thumbsup::thumbsup:
This must have been along time in the making, given the woeful weather we've been experiencing in the area!

Lovely shot Andy! The only thing that bothers me a teensy bit is a preponderance of green stars. I hate seeing green stars! :help:
Very nice work!

An amazing effort Andy. Good to see more of your top work.

A 10 panel mosaic is serious business. Good to see the path less travelled.

Greg.

Great stuff Andy. It's easy to get lost in the vastness there

From now on Peter, whenever I see a pork chop, I'll think of you ;)

Cheers Mike, the road less travelled sometimes yields some tasty morsels for the adventurous traveller. :D

Cheers Peter! :)

Indeed yes Markas, some 2-3 months over late summer were dedicated to this one, the image just kept on growing as more and more panels were needed, when I realized the nebulosity continued to extend further than originally thought!

Thanks Marcus, a deep shade of cyan perhaps compared to the nearer larger hot blue ones. Thanks for your feedback.

Cheers Dave, will do when the weather turns, it's been dire this winter in Victoria.

Cheers Greg, thanks for appreciating the dedication required to produce a monster mosaic like this, much obliged! :)

Cheers JA - space is very cool indeed! :D

Actually it's more a Tbone

Lovely images Andy, ignore the chefs as they are just trying to cook up something to the point where the steaks are high.....
(i'll see myself out now)
