Hi all,

I captured this last month across 5 nights with only an hour or so per night average as it was up late and I had to work most days (and I captured another object earlier in the evenings). I ended up with 4hrs 45 minutes of useable dual-band data on this object from Bortle 7 skies.

Telescope: MN190
Camera: ZWO2600mc
Filter: Antlia dual-band ALPT

Hi Res available here: Astrobin Messier 16 (https://www.astrobin.com/full/efy4qa/B/)

I'm pretty happy with how this one turned out for a limited capture.
I think I really prefer this pallette with Ha being red rather than burnt-orange but of course everyone has different tastes. I've probably overdone the saturation a bit but .

Comments and critiques welcome. :)

Pete,
Lovely M16 and I agree this palette is a welcome change from the brown / tan and blue.
Nicely captured and processed (Unfortunately IIS at 200KB doesn’t do it justice , Astrobin version is excellent )
Well done !!
Martin

PS: I use a similar rig in Sydney, 8” f5 KH Carbon fibre Newt , 2600MC and Antlia ALPT filter for OSC NB imaging

That's a beauty Pete  Different colour palette but dramatic and bold and hope others bothered to click on the full res version, it's more than a little epic

Thanks Martin much appreciated!
I assume you are back from your OS holiday?

It took me quite a long time in PS to get the colour palette close to what I wanted. I have been playing around with the Star tools trial version (partly due to all the different colour versions you are able to produce) as I thought it might be quicker and easier but I am yet to properly come to grips with the colour module in particular.

Yep I’m back home, unfortunately
Imaging M17 tonight
You’re not the only person who has experienced difficulty with Startools colour module, a lot of folk find it too difficult. Broadband colour is fairly straightforward, Narrowband is more challenging. I must admit it has come a long way from the early days but still requires more refinement.
Startools shines with high fidelity signal processing and noise mitigation that’s for sure !!
Cheers
