After 20 years the ST-4 is still recognised as the benchmark for auto guiders. Still used at major observatories to guide BIG telescopes ( even at Siding Spring!)
Have nothing but praise for this unit, just seems to go on, and on, and ......

Is your ST4 still available?
I assume that it has been in active service before - did it work well in its previous application?

this item is still available , although there have been plenty of tyre kickers!
There may be a buyer, but as yet it is not sold and like many of the offers above nothing has come of it. So if you are interested and really want it then make your move!

Hi h0ughy
A couple of questions,
What rom version is installed? And
Does it have a side illuminator?
Thanks mate
Paul
How old is this guider?
Has been manufactured for 15 years does it have a date of manu on it.
Also what is your best price posted to Gold Coast post code 4214.

Its Age I cannot say, only that it underwent a refurbishment and check at sbig 6-8 months before I bought the unit from its original owner who runs a commercial observatory setup in Queensland. It is in great condition and the only real marks are the engravings that were put onto the unit so that if it were stolen that it could be traced to the original owner. You can see that from the images posted.
You are second in line as Mr peeb61 has first dibs at the moment unless for some reason he does not wish to acquire the unit.
the price still stands at what was in the original first post.
As for the answer for you Paul, it does not come with an illuminator as I use the one from my celestron finder scope (they are the same fit). When I bought it it never came with one. You could try Myastroshop or Bintel for that accessory? As for the ROM version - I never really questioned it and assumed that after its refurbishment that it was the latest available for the unit? I am not sure how to check for that either. I will have a good look at the manual on how to determine that fact.
Thanks for your quick reply please let me know if sale falls through.
I will do some more research on the unit in the mean time.
Regards John
