Hey All

I'm hoping to pick your collective brains.

I am now the proud owner of a Losmandy G-11 mount and went out under the stars with it over the weekend.
After setting the home position (CWD) and getting polar aligned, it wouldn't 'GOTO' whatever I asked it to.
For example, I sent it to an object high in the sky east of the meridian (M7). It went to the west and was almost pointing at the horizon.
My Lat and Lon were set correctly (S 36 16.00 E 144 40.00).
Time was also set correctly to UTC.

I'm pretty certain I have something either set wrong or conflicting in the Gemini Telescope configuration but I'll be darned if I can figure out what it might be.

I've checked, double checked and triple checked that RA and DEC cables are connected to the correct motors.

The only thing I'm not sure about is which way the saddle should be.
The knurled nut for tightening the OTA on is currently at the same side of the mount as the motors (mainly cos I'm left handed and it makes it easier for me to attach the OTA).
Should it possibly be at the other side, or doesn't it really matter?
I'm guessing it shouldn't matter because since the home position is set, it "should" be able to work everything out from there.

Also, the battery in the controller has been replaced with a brand new one so I doubt it's the battery.

Being new to this mount, I know it's gonna be a user error... I just can't think what though.

Any thoughts from the Losmandy guru's out there?

Thanks and Best Regards
Neil

i was and have replied in the losmandy IO group, might be best to keep it there as you have had a few answers, Specifically wanting to know if you have done CWD "Cold Start" not warm start. But if you want we can discusses it here...its just the forum has much more input.

Pity you're too far away for me to assist in person.

cheers
