has anyone sold any items on ebay recently, I sold one item and after auction ended I received an email stating item has sold but payment put on hold. when I checked I was told that payment would be paid into my bank in two weeks, have notified ebay that buyer has had courier collect item and now money should be in my bank by the 14th of August this will alow buyer time to makesure they a happy with purchase. all I can say is WTF is going on. emails to ebay are a waste of time as no reply and you just go around in circles with them. just wanted tosee if anyone else has had the run around with them
cheers J G

Not a recent experience, but this is a standard practice (at least for small/new sellers) for eBay to withhold the money for a few weeks. This is to protect the buyer. Unfortunately you, as a seller have to wait and there is not much you can do.

Just hope the buyer won't decide to raise a case with eBay, e.g., to return the item for whatever reason, ship 'the item' and provide valid tracking number, only for you to receive an empty box or something else. Tracking number will show delivered and eBay will refund the money to the buyer. Then it is your headache to go and prove who is wrong and who is right.

Hi
It used to be that ebay used Paypal for buying and selling. You can still buy with Paypal.

However, if you are selling, they now do not put funds into you Paypal account. They will only send the funds to a bank account.

I hadn't sold on ebay for years. After recently selling a collectible footy card I now see how things have changed for the worse for the seller (the holding of funds). Their cut (selling fee) seems a lot higher now too. I've since removed my other listing's..

It blows my mind how eBay is, and will continue to be.They have been mostly buyer centric for the past 15 years.

Yup - They are good at charging fees and holding onto your money... But it's still the biggest global market place - so you have to weigh that up.
