Hi all

These image were taken on Sunday morning, between 5:30am and 6:10am localtime. Mars was between 38° and 43° and has grown to a massive (!) 5.67 arcseconds in diameter.

I used a 12" newt, EQ6, DMK21AF04 + 5x powermate + Astronomik RGB filters. The red channel was the only channel that revealed detail, and was the brightest by a long way. The blue channel was very messy and only half as bright.

The first attachment was at approx 10,350mm FL and the second used an extension tube as well, giving over 13,700mm FL. No resampling was done.

Thanks for looking.

Top stuff Mike. At this rate, when it gets bigger in size you'll be pointing out the 'Face on Mars'. :eyepop:

very nice Image!, it's going to be interesting to watch the polar cap shrink over the coming months.

Good stuff Mike! I'm impressed with any image of Mars with detail on it! I haven't succeeded in that yet...
