Managed to get some broadband data and more narrowband data on M16. I reprocessed the narrowband M16 without the Foraxx script and got a lot more colour complexity, although it borders on being a bit messy perhaps. The broadband had pretty rough stars on one side (tilt of the camera train I think) but will hopefully get some more time to sort this out. Added the nicer RGB stars to the narrowband as well.
Scope: Skywatcher 8" CF F4 Quattro Newtonian
Camera: ZWO ASI2600MM-Pro (Gain 100 NB, Gain 0 BB, -5º)
Mount: Skywatcher EQ6-R
NB Filters: Astronomik 6nm Ha (100x180s), OIII (101x180s), SII (100x180s) total integration time 15 hours and 3 miniutes
BB Filters: Astronomik Type 2c Lum (127x30s), RGB (each roughly 60x60s)

Great images Ben. I especially like that the narrow band versions aren't a binary orange/blue combination as is often the fashion. You've got great detail in the broad band version, especially from a Brisvegas location. Given how it looks, maybe it would be worthwhile trying to image some dark stuff?

I was a bit surprised at the luminance detail too. Hopefully I can get some more subs to see how far I can push it. I know others can get stunning pics from city environments so a lot to learn with LRGB.

I much prefer this one to the others I’ve attempted recently too,
and I hope it better reflects the complexity of the region.

The Broadband is great. Love the colour of the stars and nebula. I don't see the tilt you are referring to?

The narrowband I suppose is good but the appeal of narrowband in general wears thin quickly.

Cheers. I wasn't quite sure on the brightness, given a lot of images darken things up to bring out the pillars more.



A bit of cropping and decon limited the aberrations (and not just tilt) but the Newt in its current state is always a bit hit and miss. Have to agree on NB v BB! I've since got more Lum and Red data (before the sky and work intervened) a so ended up with this: https://www.astrobin.com/full/f1q7bn/D/




Thanks Allan. Have a vague plan to get all objects in both NB and BB: narrowband for my own desire to 'see' more of the object and broadband because its just beautiful when its done well (something of an area to get better at for me).
