11th July. Cloudy conditions again and only a small blue patch to capture this single exposure image of the sun today. The prominent feature is a large sunspot AR 3363 that I measured to be 65,000 km x 50,000 km. Lots of other smaller groups are also visible.
Thanks for viewing,
John W.

PS. I had given up on getting a Ha image of the Sun today because of heavy cloud but a blue patch of sky gave me just enough time to get a quick single exposure image. Lunt 100 SS and Canon 550d.

A nice clear image for a single frame, John. It is a shame you did not have the opportunity to gather more frames.

We must have been trying through the clouds at about the same time this morning. The seeing was quite good. I've posted my effort separately.

What tool do you use to annotate your image?

Reply to Steve, I use a MAC computer and under Preview there is an Annotate setting. I have just managed a Ha image (added to previous image).
Cheers, JW.

We are a Mac family too. I have used the Preview annotation tools to manually enter information.

I just thought that you may have been using something similar to the annotation tools in many of the astro imaging software packages that plate solve and identify deep sky objects in an image and then annotate them. Always on the lookout for tools to simply things!
