Another from the weekend of the 19th May...

The LMC is very low in the sky here, so not particularly nice detail in it. But it is a different shot for that reason - it's more common that photograph's show the LMC when it's higher.

I'm quite happy with the contrast in the dust lanes of the Milky Way at the top of the image. They're much more apparent on my LCD than my CRT, so might depend a little. Shows the different in viewing conditions from the bottom of the image to the top, and comparing this to the previous image with the plane in it where the Milky Way is lower and has much less contrast.

Again, the image lacks real colour depth due to the Canon's filter.

Yeah, not sure why that is? Must be just the changing sky conditions as clouds went over etc.

That is true, but it's not man-made, not sure what it was from :shrug: It was a partly cloudy night which must have been a contributing factor.
