I started with 373 subs of 120 seconds and culled and culled so I forgot to check the actual time of this effort represented in actual exposure..Heaps of cropping because data was over a few nights and as I am still playing around with stuff was too slack to pay attention to framing...I did not use compose in Startools and just played around in Photoshop ....anyways I detected problems with the processing but the genny is about to run out of fuel and also I and ready to pass out from little sleep for days...so I cant do anymore

Nice Alex. As a certified over cooker, I think you've over cooked your lobster a touch. For the Star mask, if you temporarily go for a super contrasty colour while you're making your mask you may find it easier to target the stars.
The detail is brilliant Alex, really well done.

That is indeed a bright red lobster, Alex. There is so much detail in there it's hard for my eyes to rest on any one point of the image without being distracted by some other detail :thumbsup: Alex

Thank you Alex. Thankfully very red and not very green although I wonder what it could have been detail wise if I added a green channel?

Lol, yes, not green! That said, blending in a green channel may reduce the contrast due a shift towards yellow with a general lightening of the image. Buuuut you'll have extra integration to help pull out more detail. Could use a mask to preserve the red colour in brighter areas and see what a red-yellow bicolour image looks like, just for fun :-)

This is a serious business.;):lol::lol::lol:
I have been watching "how to" videos on PI and feel if I go that way colour will no longer be a problem for me...at least watching has helped me greatly to understand what is going on...
